The Safe Rides Program was started by Stephanie's Mom, Naomi to provide
safe rides to teens in Pacifica. The program provides a free taxi ride home to
teens who might be impaired drivers or others who may be dependent on an
impaired driver for a ride home.
Teens can call 650-359-7948 and request a Safe Ride. The rides are
provided by Eureka Yellow Cab.
The program was funded initially by contributions made in memory of
Stephanie. Since that time, funds have been raised by the sale of acrylic
bracelets*, auctions of items donated by local artists, and the sale of donated
merchandise.
*The bracelets are embossed REMEMBER and DRIVE SOBER. They are
being sold for $3.00 (volume discounts available) and can be purchased
locally at You Name It in Manor Shopping Center.
